NPSU demands four laning of Jammu Akhnoor road

Jammu, Jan 3: Underlining the importance of Jammu-Akhnoor Road in view of the heavy traffic, National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) on Friday demanded immediate starting of 4 laning of the road and if the concerned authorities fail to start work, union will stage dharna against government.Addressing media persons at party Head quarters, Partap Singh Jamwal, State President National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) said "The Jammu- Akhnoor has become a killer road as only last year around 182 road accidents took place under the jurisdiction of Domana police station in which 20 persons lost their lives while 162 were left crippled. "The increasing accidents on the road have resulted in public outcry and people of surrounding villages are demanding widening of the road, he said, adding, "widening of Akhnoor road as well as Poonch road will be useless unless and until the Jammu Akhnoor road is widened. Giving warning to the concerned authorities to start the work of Jammu-Akhnoor road within ten days, NPSU leader said that failing so they have to face wrath of the locals.
