Jammu, Jan 3: In order to mark the success of its students, who made it to the IIT, NITs and different medical colleges of the country in recently concluded year, AK Vidyamandir (AKV), Jammu, held a function Premier Hungama Day at City Farms Jammu in which five hundred students and their parents participated. Justice Parmod Kohli, (Retd) Chief Justice Sikkim High Court was Chief Guest and renowned Educationalists Sh.I.D.Soni was the guest of honour. A gathering veteran academicians and eminent citizens were also present on the occasion. During the celebrations the selected students of medical stream got stethoscopes and aprons whereas those selected for engineering were given safety helmets and mementoes, as token of felicitation from the school management. Meantime three state toppers of the JKCET 2013 namely A K Vians, Shomik Raina, state rank Ist, Akhil Pandita, state rank 2nd and Pranav Mahajan, state rank 3rd were presented with gift Cheques of Rs 50000, Rs 25000 and Rs 20000 respectively. Commissioned in April 2011, the first batch of the two years program passed out in 2013 with more than thirty students out of a total strength of eighty five securing 90% and above marks in their board exams and of the total thirty students secured admission into top professional colleges in the country. |
