| BSNL sub-retailers fleecing customers | | Charging Rs. 10 extra for bill payments, recharge | | Jammu: The consumers of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) are not only fed-up with the poor telecomm services, but now are being fleeced by the sub-retailers of the company, as they are being charged Rs.10 extra for bill payment and recharge. The sub-retailers of BSNL who are authorised by the company to accept bill payments and recharge with their special SIM are fleecing people by charging Rs.10 extra for every bill payment and recharge. Vinayak Puri, a resident of Roop Nagar said, "I was getting late for my office, and it was the last date of payment of BSNL mobile bill, so to get rid of the long queues at payment counter, I approached a sub-retailer of BSNL at Roop Nagar, after paying my bill of Rs. 700, he charged Rs.710 from me." "When asked about the extra 10 rupees, he said BSNL has stopped paying commission to the sub-retailers in Jammu and asked us to charge it to the consumers," he added. Puri further said that the sub-retailers of all the telecomm companies are easily available in the market and no one charges extra for recharge or Bill payment. But it is difficult to find a sub-retailer of BSNL and if you find it, he will charge extra for that. When contacted, Senior official of BSNL said, "We are paying commission to all the sub-retailers of the company and if someone is charging more the constomer should complain against that shopkeeper." "We have received some complains and we have taken strict action against that Sub-retailers,"he added. |
