| After spending Rs 4000 crores Rural Dev Deptt says come forward if you have a grievance | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 8: One of the most humour triggering advertisement has now appeared courtesy the State Rural Development Department. The advertisement speaks of Rs.4000 crores having been spent in the last five years by the Rural Development Department in the State.
The advertisement interestingly does not speak of who benefitted from this most lavish expenditure. It speaks of the capacity of the Rural Development Minister to incur the expenditure. That is some achievement for the Minister to have single-handedly managed to expend such a stupendous amount and that too till the end of December 2013.
This clearly means before the 6-year term of the present State government ends by the year end, many more crores are likely to be spent under the dynamic leadership of the Minister.
The most amusing part of this paid advertisement is that it speaks of transparency and accountability while this colossal amount was spent. People are told to contact the grievance cell of the Rural Development Department in case of any complaint.
There is something known as humility and self-remorse, but given the brazen neglect of the people's feelings the state government has been spending funds (read wasting funds) and then making a fanfare of such an extravagant expenditure in the name of public welfare. Someone rightly said this happens only in J&K. |
