| JTC, SKF deputation calls on Relief Commissioner | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 8: A deputation of the office bearers and members of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K led by Shadi Lal Pandita, President JTC and Soan Kashmir Front J&K called on the Commissioner, Relief and Rehabilitation, Relief Organization J&K today. The Commisioner was apprised of the present difficulties of the inmates of Jagti Migrant Camp where 14-20 hours power curtailment isbeing imposed which has put the inmates to lot of sufferings besides the students and old aged have adversely been affected. The Commissioner, Relief and Rehabilitation gave a patient hearing to the deputationists and assured them that the matter shall be taken up with the concerned authorities. Later, members held a meeting at Jagti wherein it was said that Chief Minister is being misled by some vested interests that the inmates of Jagti Migrant Camp are well settled having sufficient resources which is totally wrong information as the majority of inmates of this migrant camp are very poor having meagre sources of income which does not meet their domestic needs as such bearing huge electric expenses is beyond their expectations. In the meeting, it was decided that on January 12, a protest rally will be taken out from Jagti Migrant Camp which will proceed to Police Post Jagti Nagrota for voluntary arrest against prevailing power curtailments in Jagti Migrant Camp. |
