| JSM laments Govt's apathetic attitude towards Jail Warden aspirants | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 8: Prof Virender Gupta, the president of Jammu State Morcha (JSM) strongly deplored the insensitive and apathetic attitude of Omar Abdullah Government to the demands of the unemployed youth who have applied as Jail Warden in the Prison Department for not issuing the order for their employment even though the interviews for the posts were conducted in September, 2010. These youth were sitting on dharna for the last about 40 days in front of the exhibition ground bearing the extreme cold and other difficulties. But this has not so far moved the Omar Government that makes heavy claims for providing employment to the unemployed youth. Prof. Gupta mentioned that as per the information there about 2000 vacancies in the Prison Department and the department is facing acute shortage of manpower. No recruitment was made in the department since 1995. He questioned the Government for such a long delay in issuing the selection lists of the candidates interviewed more than three years back for the posts of Jail Warden and asked the Government to immediately release the list of the selected candidates. |
