JAMMU, Jan 8: Following denial from Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to the request of a Lucknow based Right to Information (RTI) activist to provide information in regards with the case relating to Congress President Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra's connection with the DLF land deal another refusal to an Jammu based RTI activist came from Ministry of Civil Aviation on the exemption of security check to Mr Vadera. The Ministry of Civil Aviation denied sharing information regarding exemption to Robert Vadra in security check at all airports, under RTI Act.In reply to an RTI filed by RTI activist Deepak Sharma asking information regarding exemption granted to Robert Vadra in security check at all civil airports, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has denied to share the information citing the reasons that the asked information is classified. As per the details, Deepak had filed an RTI application to Ministry of Home Affairs asking information regarding exemption provided to Robert Vadra from exemption of security check at all civil airports in the country. "The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (Ministry of Civil Aviation) in reply to the filed RTI application stated that the asked information is classified hence cannot be provided, the reply briefly satated. Expressing surprise over the reply, the activist stated that how the details regarding exemption in security check could be classified as the name of Robert is openly displayed at all airports in the list of dignitaries who are exempted from security check before their boarding in planes. Here it needs to mention earlier the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has turned down the request of a Lucknow based Right to Information (RTI) activist to provide information in regards with the progress in the case relating to Congress President Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra's connection with the DLF citing 'Robert Vadra-DLF case is confidential' on June 12, 2013 "The office, keeping in view the Supreme Court's ruling, has sought exemption as the matter has been treated as confidential", the PMO's reply signed by SE Rizvi, Deputy Secretary and Central Public Information Officer has stated to a RTI filed by one Nutan Thakur seeking information under the RTI Act alleged that she has been denied information without any valid reason. |
