| 4th class employee becomes warden Pahari hostel Rajouri | | | | Rajouri, Jan 8 : In an attempt to delay investigation and action for proved misappropriation of student funds against ex warden Pahari hostel Rajouri who is also brother-in-law of Health Minister, a junior assistant has been given the charge of the Pahari hostel under political pressure. Istabaz Chowdhary, Junior assistant was appointed as casual laborer in Pahari students hostel Rajouri in 1998 by the then vice chairman of JK Pahari Advisory Board. After some years he was shifted to Jammu by the Vice Chairman and later in the same breath he was not only regularized but also promoted as junior assistant and subsequently he was made in charge warden of Pahari hostel Ananatnag. After serving the interests of his mentor as in-charge warden in Anantnag for some years, the same 4th class employee has been now shifted to Rajouri Pahari hostel where the post of warden was lying vacant after the retirement of Babu Hussain Khan who served in this hostel as warden for more than seven years with the blessing of his brother in law minister Shabir Ahmed Khan. It is pertinent to mention here that the embezzlement worth Rs 60 lakhs was established two years back in Pahari hostel Rajouri after an investigation was carried by the then AC defence Farooq Ahmed on the directions of the then DDC followed by large scale protests by the inmates and several members of NGOs. "Despite the fact that these findings of the inquiry report were also submitted to CM but no action was taken against the said warden" said Javed Mughal president Pahari Action Committee. He added that after the retirement of the said accused warden and to save his skin from departmental action the politicians have also managed to get the 4th class employee of his choice adjusted as in-charge of the hostel. "When assitant warden Shahbaz Khan who is headmaster of government girls middle school is available at Rajouri what was the fun of appointing a junior assistant after transfer him from Anantnag as in-charge warden of boys Pahari hostel at Rajouri" said Sheiraz Inqalabi, president Pahari Student Union. Pahari speaking community leaders have alleged that several inquiries including vigilance, C. M. Grievance Cell, DDC, district social welfare etc are in process against the said ex-warden for tempering of records, withdrawal of fradulant bills including for those period when Warden was on two months leave for Haj pilgrimage, fraudulent withdrawal of tuition fund, computer training funds ,maintenance, funds books & stationary funds . |
