Srinagar, Jan 8: Search operations continued Wednesday in Sopore town of north Kashmir's Baramulla district where a police officer was killed and three policemen injured in an encounter with militants on Tuesday. Reports reaching GNS said that SOG, army and CRPF carried out searches in several localities of the town, including Chinkipora, where two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants, Muzaffar Molvi and Abu Huraira, a Pakistani national escaped after killing a police officer and injuring three cops during a brief encounter on Tuesday morning. Besides frisking the youth, the joint teams also asked them to produce identity cards. The passenger and private vehicles were also checked at many places in the town. "Besides it, sniffer dogs were also used by the teams to search the militants. The searches continued throughout the day. However, no one was arrested," reports said. |
