JCC resumes agitation, stages protests over delay in implementation of agreements

Jammu, Jan 8: Annoyed over repeated delay on part of government to implement the agreement, Jammu and Kashmir Joint Consultative Committee (JCC), today staged sit in outside Press Club Jammu.Hundreds of government's employees today assembled outside press club of Jammu and raised slogans against the government for allegedly deliberately delaying the implementations of agreements signed between JCC and the government time to time.Addressing the protesters, JCC leaders said that state government has adopted anti employee and cruel policies to weaken the employee movement. They regretted that the frequent arrests of the leaders and withholding pay of employees, who are agitating for their rights, is unfortunate and measures like ESMA, No Work No Pay, should be withdrawn forthwith. "If government is serious to mitigate problems of employees, it should immediately implement the agreements signed between JCC and administration on September 15, 2011 and 2012 respectively", they said.The demands of employees included removal of pay anomalies in clerical cadre and police department, regularization of daily wagers, casual wagers etc, release of 6th Pay Commission and arrears in favour of the local bodies and budgetary support to PSU, enhancement of medical allowance to Rs 2000, medical policy, enhancement of retirement age to 60, release of DA, increase of honorarium besides withdrawal of new pension scheme.Abdul Qayoom Wani, Devanad Gill, Balwinder Singh, Ravi Singh Bhau, Dharminder Singh, Ravinder Singh, Kulwant Singh, Anil Mehta, Shazadi Gill, Ravi Kumar addressed the gathering.
