| Truck Union holds election | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Jan 23: Kathua Truck Union today held free and fair election for the post of President wherein Kuldeep Singh was declared as the new President. The Truck Union said that total registered voters of the union were 687 and out of this figure, 507 voters cast their votes. For the post of truck union president, Kuldeep Singh (Kingu) and Manjeet Singh were two contestants who were in competition with their respective supporters where as the Kuldeep Singh has taken 395 votes out of 507 and Manjeet Singh took 108 votes and 4 votes were rejected and Kuldeep was declared as the winner. The election began and concluded under the supervision of Returning Officer Raghubir Singh. After assuming the position of President of the Truck Union Kuldeep Singh (Kingu) extended his great thanks to the operators who voted in his favour by making trust and giving the chance to serve the union again, he said that the election was held without any problem and every voters were seemed happy and enjoyed their power to elect the president of their own choice. |
