DDC Reasi orders FIR against defaulter contractors, officials 1/23/2014 9:04:52 PM Early Times Report Reasi, Jan 23: District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary while reviewing the performance of Public Works Department (PWD) in construction works of Health, Education, Sports issued instructions for registration of FIR against contractors in all cases of delay and against various parties involved in land disputes at proposed sites. While taking meeting, DDC also directed the PWD not to retender the projects after no response in received on 3rd tender. Taking serious note of buildings put to tender 4 to 11 times in past in some cases he termed it wastage of public money. The DDC directed that PWD shall not initiate construction of buildings unless the land is identified by the concerned department, handed over to executing division and entry made in revenue records to avoid any litigation. Assistant Commissioner Revenue has already been entrusted with the task of issues related to land and more than 12 issues have been settled it was informed. PWD and PMGSY were directed to dismantle all such structures from the alignment of roads where the construction has taken place after notification under Section 4 and 6 of Land Acquisition Act stood issued.
