| HC stays promotion of 63 Lecturers in Education Dept | | | ET Report
Jammu, Jan 23 : Vacation Judge of J&K High Court Jammu Wing Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur today stayed the promotion of 63 Incharge Lectures Environmental Science. This significant direction has been passed by Kachan Bala and others challenging the Govt order No 28-Edu of 2014 dated January 1, 2014 whereby 63 respondents have been ordered to be placed as Incharge Lecturers in discipline of Environmental Science in their own pay and grade with charge allowance. In the petition it has been submitted that out of 63 respondents only 5 are masters and rest are teachers. In the petition it has been submitted that the petitioners are all master and were otherwise eligible for consideration even for the purpose of I/C arrangement basis even when the said arrangement does not confer any permanent right then they had a right to be considered for such Incharge arrangement on temporary basis. Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur after hearing Advocates SK Raina, Rajneesh Raina and Rahil Raja for the petitioners issued notice and admit the petition and ordered that subject to objections and till next date before the Bench operation of order dated January 4, 2014 shall remain stayed. However, nothing would prevent the state respondents from considering petitioners along with all other suitable candidates who are in the grade of masters for placement of Incharge Lecturers in accordance with rules.
