Early Times Report Poonch, Jan 23: Lambasting State Government for its failure to solve common problems of the general masses, People Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha Yash Pal Sharma today challenged ruling National Conference to come out with a single achievement during the last five years. He said that except indulged into deceit tactics for its survival, this regime has done nothing worth praising during a vast tenure of five years. Addressing public meetings Jhallas and Jadibabana areas of Poonch-Haveli Assembly segment, Yash Pal Sharma, said that during its five year tenure this regime has nothing to show because miseries of the people have increased manifold after formation of National Conference led regime in the State. "Ground situation in the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri is an indicator of the mis-governance and lopsided policies of the present regime", he said and pointed out that this belt has beenneglected in all spheres of life. "Important sectors like Health, Education, Power, Water etc have been completely collapsed during the last five years due to wrong policies of the present regime", he said and added that road networks appears only on papers but on ground hundreds of villages and hamlets are still unconnected with road networks. Sharma said that Health and Education are the two sectors which have been completely collapsed in these two districts due to casual approach being adopted by ruling National Conference. "Except pursuing its divisive politics, National Conference has done nothing to mitigate miseries of the inhabitants of Poonch and Rajouri", he said. "What to say to mitigating woes of the masses, this regime has further compounded miseries of the people due to its wrong policies", he pointed out and added this regime has proved total failure in its five year tenure. He took the coalition government to task for its failure to provide even ration to the people of this region. "Scarcity of ration in the remotest areas speaks about the casual approach being adopted by this dispensation towards solving basic problems of the people", he observed and called upon the party workers to expose this regime before the masses.

He also said that the present Government has fail to hold Block and the District Level Panchyats bodies and are subverting these institutions of the Panchyats for petty personal interests. While thanking Mufti Mohd Sayed, Capt Uttam Singh assured that they will leave no stone unturned to strengthen the People Democratic party at the grass root level as this is the only Party in the State who can solve the problems of the masses and can come up the expectations of the people of the State. ICCR Jammu starts Cultural Reading Room in Jammu Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 23: Indian Council for Cultural Relations, (ICCR) Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India started a Cultural Reading Room in its headquarters at Jammu. Regional Director of ICCR Jammu in a media conference at ICCR Campus, said, "Besides six quarterly magazines of ICCR in five International languages on Indian culture which includes 'Papeles de la India' (Spanish), 'Rencontre avec L' Inde' (French) 'Thaqafat-ul-Hind' (Arabic) 'Indian Horizons' and 'Africa Quarterly' (both in English), and' Gagananchal' (Hindi), the reading room will offer the rarest publications of ICCR on Culture in English, Arabic, French, Spanish, Hindi and Sanskrit." The Indian Council for Cultural Relations has an ambitious publication programme that has grown over the years, he said adding, "In addition, over the years, the ICCR has published books on a wide range of subjects, ranging from the arts to philosophy, diplomacy, language and literature." "Apart from this, works of eminent Indian men of letters, statesmen and philosophers like Mahatma Gandhi, Maulana Azad, Nehru and Tagore, among others, hold pride of place in ICCR's Publication Programme, he mentioned and added that publication programme is focused particularly on books relating to Indian Culture, Philosophy and Mythology and includes translations of Sanskrit classics in a number of languages. Regional Director ICCR Jammu also informed that the rarest publications which now will be available to scholars in ICCR office of Jammu.
Gurezi inaugurates veterinary center Panthal, Talwara Early Times Report Reasi, Jan 23: Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Nazir Ahmed Khan Gurezi today inaugurated newly constructed Veterinary Hospital at Panthal and Veterinary Center at Talwara in Reasi district. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government has introduced a number of promotional schemes, under which huge subsidy is being provided for feed, medicines etc to the farming community. The Minster said that with the construction of Veterinary Complex at Panthal and Talwara the services like vaccination, artificial insemination etc would be timely delivered to the sheep & goat which would help the growth of the people associated with sheep & goat rearing. Dr HS Rana District Sheep Husbandry officer Reasi, informed that under the centrally sponsored scheme ESVHD one hospital at Panthal and Pouni has been constructed costing Rs 13.6 lac each and one dispensary at Talwara and Bharakh costing Rs 10.6 lac each. And these will provide benefit to about 58000 sheep and goat population falling under these veterinary hospitals & dispensaries.

Cold claims one life in Kishtwar Early Times Report Kishtwar, Jan 23: Kishtwar police today claimed to have recovered the dead body of an old man who had died due to prevailing weather condition. As per details, after receiving an information about presence of dead body along the road side near Hasti village of Kishtwar District located on Kishtwar-Jammu National Highway. Police party from police post Shalimar at around 9 AM immediately rush to the spot and found unidentified dead body of elderly person belongs from Sikh Community believed to have died. After clearing the formalities, police shifted the dead body to Mortuary of District Hospital Kishtwar. Police said that efforts are on to identify the dead person. Police said that the deceased was wearing blue colour Turban, Brown Kurta-Pajama and grey jacket and has a long white beard.

"The seminar was organized on the topic "New Ideas for New Tomorrow - Promoting Innovation and Youth Participation," the official said. Official spokesperson said that a large number of students participated in this two day-long seminar on the topic "New Ideas for New Tomorrow - Promoting Innovation and Youth Participation'. They said that in the essay competition category all the three prized viz.
