EARLY TIMES REPORT
Rajouri, Feb 5: Lambasting the present coalition government over the establishment of the new administrative units in the state, Senior PDP leader Shahzad Khan termed it a hastily move to satisfy political vested interests of ruling regime. In a press statement released PDP leader said that the hastily approved new administrative units have the sole agenda of petty vote bank politics. "The government did not feel the necessity of taking into consideration the socio-economic feasibility," he said adding, "just to take the credit of creation of new administrative units, the present coalition government took this hasty decision without proper deliberations. He said that there definitely is the requirement of smaller administrative units to decentralize administration and bringing it closer to the people but this is not the right time to do so. Shahzad said that the government did not take into consideration the Mushtaq Ganai Committee report and instead of creating the number recommended by it, the government set up almost the double number of such units. Besides, Shahzad said that while establishing the new units, equal opportunities to all the regions have not been given. Giving example of Doongi, in Rajouri district, he said that it deserved to be given the status of a Tehsil but it has not been considered. Shahzad said that the financial position of the state is already in shambles. For months together the already serving employees are not getting their salaries due to lack of funds. Shahzad further said that the present infrastructure of the already existing offices is poor how will the government manage thousands of crores more to create and maintain the new infrastructure. He said that creation of new administrative units is not just a matter of expressing false emotions for petty vote bank agenda. |
