BARAMULLA, Feb 5: The administration in this North Kashmir district has decided to carry out a crackdown against the unregistered coaching centers. A team has been constituted in this regard and some of the coaching centers have already been sealed. Sources told Early Times that at least 10 coaching centers were sealed by the team. The sealed coaching centers include School for Commerce and Economics, Iqra Institute of English Care, A.Z's Institute of Commerce and Business Studies, Jet King English Care Academy, Right Track Tuition Centers, Axis Academy, BBC Broken Heaven Academy, Edu Care Coaching Institute and Eco Club. The team constituted to check the veracity of coaching centers comprises of Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Tehsildar and Deputy Superintendent Headquarter Baramulla. The team has been directed to start a sealing drive of the coaching institutions that are unregistered in the Baramulla town. "We have sealed all coaching centers in general whether they are registered or not. Unless and until they produce the valid documents we will not allow them to function. Nobody would be allowed to take law in their own hands and at the same time it would be ensured that untoward incidents take place," said Farooq Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Revenue. The development comes two days after the killing of a graduate student Irshad Ahmad Ganie son of Ghulam Nabi Ganie resident of Ushkara Baramulla. Irshad was allegedly killed by another student Irfan Ahmad son of Farooq Ahmad Bhat of Mohalla Jalal Sahib of old town Baramulla with a sharp edged weapon leading to massive protests in the entire town. The district administration here called an emergency meeting with senior citizens and civil society members of the town. During this meeting all members impressed that remedial measures should be taken so that no untoward incident takes place in future. It has been learnt from reliable sources that Director School Education, Mir Tariq has already framed guidelines to the private coaching centers and the district administration will issue the guidelines accordingly after final meeting. At the same time a group of students assembled here in the main chowk and demanded for stern action against these tuition centers and also demanded the restart of registered coaching centers. The students said that they have not completed their syllabus for which the coaching centres have taken huge amount from them in advance. Meanwhile civil society members have requested the authorities to restart those coaching centers which are completely registered with the Directorate of School Education. They have demanded cancellation of registration of the coaching centers that violate norms and guidelines which have been issued by the concerned department from time to time. |
