| CPPWU strike enters 4th day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kishtwar, Feb 5: Indefinite hunger strike of Chinar Power Projects Workers Union (CPPWU) Kishtwar today entered 4th day, the striking workers are demanding employment opportunity for local unemployed youths of Kishtwar District. Joginder Chairman of the Union has expressed his serious concern over the double standard of Principal Employer and M/s L&T ECC Co. not meeting agreement for which the Union has been demanding for in the interest of poor workers of District Kshtwar.He urged upon the Management of GVK and L&T Co. to resolve the issue of employment with the Union within two days of the ultimatum already served to management. "Otherwise, we shall be left to no other option but to launch an agitation after deadline of the ultimatum", he threatened. Addressing the gathering at Drabashalla sitting on indefinite strike/dharna which has entered 4th day said that the management of GVK and L&T must come forward to resolve the basic issue of employment as per the PPP MoU agreement signed between State Govt and these agencies to remove the unemployment in District Kishtwar. |
