SRINAGAR, Feb 5: Police on Wednesday claimed to have solved the blind murder case of a young girl in South Kashmir. The accused has been identified as Nasir Bashir Sheikh, a resident of Joyibal Veeri in Bijbehara locality of south Kashmir. According to reports, the body of 18- year-old girl namely Iqra Nissar Khan, a resident of Ladibal in Bijbehara was found in Chee Darpora area in Islamabad. The locals informed the police who recovered the body and found that the girl was strangulated and tortured to death. According to police, soon after the murder, SP Sheikh Junaid under the supervision of DySP Anantnag solved the murder case within three days. During the investigation, all the suspects identified were taken into custody for questioning. "Nasir Bashir Sheikh who is relative of the deceased broke down and confessed the commission of murder. It has surfaced that jealously has been main motive behind the murder. Moreover all the angles are also being investigated," a police official said. A case (FIR No.08/2014) under section 302 RPC has been registered against the accused at Islamabad police station. |
