| REASI, Feb 5: District Election Officer (DEO) Reasi today honoured the participants of election tableaux which were one of the main attractions of the Republic Day function spreading message of importance of vote to thousands of spectators. DEO and District Development Commissioner, Reasi Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary highly appreciated the efforts put forth by Dr Jagdish Mehra, PO DRDA and his team in the preparation of these unique tableaux which was first of its kind displayed on the occasion of national voters day and Republic Day. Interacting with the students, teachers and other artists Dr Choudhary said that the motive of all this exercise is to spread awareness among general masses for greater participation in electoral process and he also urged the students to carry this message to their home. A film show depicting the importance of vote and detail of voters awareness programmes launched in the district was also shown on the occasion. Later on, letters of appreciation and certificates were distributed among the participants. PO Watershed Subash Dogra, DIO Parvinder Kour and participants of tableaux were present on the occasion. |
