2/5/2014 8:20:43 PM
AKHNOOR, Feb 5: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma has hailed the Central leadership, especially the UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh and Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi, PCC Chief, Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz and Ghulam Nabi Azad for their whole hearted support to the State Government for ensuring unprecedented development in all vital sectors. Describing the two tenures of Coalition Governments in Jammu and Kashmir as golden period as far as development is concerned, the Minister said that major initiatives were taken for upgradation of infrastructure in important sectors and people have acknowledged the change on ground. He said, this all could be possible with the active support of Central Government and sincere efforts of Coalition Government in the State. On the creation of new administrative units in the State, Sham said that the Coalition Government has tried to do justice with every area after going through a rigorous exercise by the Cabinet Sub Committee (CSC) and after taking into account the view points of people from all districts. He said this hallmark decision of the Coalition Government will be written in golden words in the history of Jammu and Kashmir as the Government has tried to bring administration more closer to the common man. Addressing a largely attended public meeting at village Mera Mandrian, which was declared as tehsil and block recently, the Minister said that the Coalition Government was always pro-active in mitigating the problems of people, especially in rural and far-flung areas of the State. The creation of new administrative units will ensure fast track development of all rural and remote areas. This will also help greatly to the common man who used to cover large distance to reach to the blocks and tehsils to get their jobs done. He hoped that the initiative will open new chapter of all round development in the State, said the Minister.
