| Kejriwal's list of corrupt sans follow-up action: Mehbooba | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Feb 5 : Opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti Wednesday said that the 'list of corrupt politicians' prepared by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will not be followed by any appropriate action. "We have seen that the corrupt politicians are not being brought to book and that is why the people suffer at large," said PDP president. She stated further that the people want an action be taken but on ground no serious measures are being taken. Mehbooba said that in past there have been several scams but the action against the culprits still remains a distant dream. Accusing that the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) scam involving embezzlement of Crores of rupees, Mehbooba stated that people have the right to ask who has signed those cheques. "There has been the killing of Haji Yousuf but no one has been allowed to ask that who has killed him or how he died?" Commenting over the alleged regional discrimination between Jammu and Kashmir in creation of new administrative units in the state, Mehbooba said that no criteria has been adopted while taking the decision. "People are on roads and are aghast over the creation of new administrative units. There is discrimination between village after a village. No discipline has been followed in the creation of these units. In some areas the distance from tehsil headquarters is 5 Kilometers and in some areas it is mere 3 kilometers." |
