| Coalition Govt thriving on false promises, deceptive slogans: Harsh | | Several Congress workers join NPP | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 5 : Harsh Dev Singh NPP MLA and its Chairman today lambasted the state government for what he described as its total non governance, non performance, lack of Accountability and Transparency, patronized corruption and fiscal indiscipline. He said that the govt. had totally failed to deliver on the ground with the administrative machinery having been completely paralysed. He said that the govt. was making tall claims and loud announcements without any corresponding output having been recorded on the ground. He was speaking in a huge public rally organized by the Panthers Party in Barnai village of Raipur Domana constituency. Accusing the present dispensation of rampant corruption and red tape, Singh observed that the coalition govt. was thriving on false promises and deceptive slogans. He said that during the last four and a half year rule of present govt. the people had suffered the worst era of mis-rule, mis-goverance and lack of Accountability. He said there was all round discontent and disenchantment amongst the people of the state who had felt betrayed by the anti people policies pursued by the present regime. He said that the govt. had lost more than 2100 crore of plan funds due to its criminal negligence to perform and owed an explanation to the people of state for the lapse. He further said that there was general unrest amongst the people of the state including the unemployed as well as the employees class whose grievances had not been redressed despite numerous assurances. He said that the govt. had totally failed to fulfill its promises made to unemployed youth and alleged that plethora of schemes announced by it including SKEWPY; Udaan; Himayat; having totally failed to address the issue of unemployment. Harsh Dev Singh further accused the govt. of its deliberate delay and deny approach with regard to democratic decentralization and empowerment of gross root level institutions. He flayed the coalition partners of hatching a conspiracy to deprive the Panchayats of their legitimate rights and powers as per 73rd constitution amendment. He further questioned the criminal silence maintained by the govt. over the issue of holding Urban Local Bodies elections in the state which were being persistently postponed. Harsh Dev Singh said that NPP would emerge a strong force after 2014 elections in view of growing people's faith in its policies and programmes. He urged upon the people to discard the traditional parties including congress and BJP which had always used them as vote Bank. He claimed that NPP was a mass movement which had proved itself in Assembly and outside. He said that the Party would vigorously follow the agenda of delimitation and re-organization of the state. Urging up the people to join NPP, Singh said that it alone could ensure justice to the people of all regions of the state and end all forms of discrimination against Jammu. Dwelling upon the local issues of the area, he called upon the state govt. to ensure provision of basic amenities in the area including un-interrupted power supply, adequate drinking water facilities besides up gradation of roads in the area. More than 65 workers of Congress led by Mr. Yash Paul Singh Manhas, quit their party and Joined NPP on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion Yash Paul Singh Manhas expressed his faith in the policies of NPP and said that Panthers alone could represent the cause of Jammu region. He lauded the role played by NPP MLAs inside the Assembly and urged upon the people to strengthen the party for the ultimate good of all sections of society. Promiant among those who spoke on the occasion included H.C Jhalmeria; Yash Paul Singh Manhas, Tara Chand ; Shankar Singh Chib; Satvir Singh and Sonia Rajput. |
