Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 5: Samajwadi party Chairman Sheikh Abdul Rehman today said that the creation of new administrative units by state government was a drama enacted by coalition partners to hoodwink the common masses. According to press release, addressing the media persons, Sheikh Abdul Rehman said that earlier two committees headed by SS Billoria and another head by Mushtaq Ganaie, were constituted for the same purpose whose recommendations were not known to the public. "And now when the elections to the Lok Sabha as also the Assembly are round the corner, both NC as also the Congress who are losing ground due to unprecedented corruption, mis-governance, unemployment, enacted a drama and in a hush-hush manner visited some district headquarters, met their own party workers and submitted its report to the Chief Minister which was simultaneously approved & made public", he alleged. The episode of drama enacted by coalition partners included, disagreements between them on some flimsy grounds, their several visits to Delhi to apprise their bosses, then threat by Omar Abdullah to quit which later turned out to be an attempt to throw dust into the eyes of innocent masses, he said. Rehman said that the recommendations of the Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by Dy. Chief Minister was full of flaws and deficiencies while some units have been deserving, remote and backward areas have been ignored, primarily keeping in view the political considerations, without giving any weightage to the financial implications. Mr. Rehman said that the coalition partners, at this time of elections have tried to appease the people by creating some administrative units but in fact it was biggest fraud with them because government would fail in implementing these recommendations in the name of financial constraints and for want of other infra-structure. He appealed the masses to see through the game and trap laid by coalition partners and teach them a lesson in case they would fail to implement the recommendations before the election code of conduct comes into force. |
