Jammu, May 20: J&K Ex-Services League at Ambphalla Jammu, under the chairmanship of Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, President J&K Ex-Services League held a meeting in which members congratulated Gen V K Singh, former COAS, Maj Gen B C Khanduri, Col Rajyavardhan Rathore, Col Sona Ram and Capt Amarinder Singh for being elected as Members of the Parliament and expected them to continue fighting for the cause of the Ex-servicemen. During the meeting members exuded their hopes that the newly elected parliamentarians from Olive Green shall continue to raise the issue of One Rank One Pension which has yet to be implemented. "Notwithstanding that there a\re only 5 (five) Soldier Members elected in the New Parliament, the members hoped that their interests will be watched by the entire New Parliament, they said. The members of the League also congratulated Narendra Modi for his brilliant success in the Elections, all the newly elected members of the State, Jitendra Singh from Udhampur, Jugal Kishore Sharma from Jammu, Thupstan chhewang from Ladakh, Mehbooba Mufti from Anantnag, Muzaffar Hussain Baig from Baramulla and Tariq Hameed Karra from Srinagar. While hailing the winning of mandate by new parliamentarians, the ex servicemen league hoped that they (elected MPs) will be fair to the Armed Forces and the Ex-servicemen who have been ignored, both in the Centre as well as in the States. It was also decided to submit a Memorandum of Demands to the new government highlighting their long pending demands. |
