Srinagar, May 20: National conference top leadership had to face huge embarrassment today after party workers protested outside party's Srinagar headquarters Nawa-i-Subh and raised slogans against Omar Abdullah and his coterie.
Ahead of the second introspection meet , the venue turned into battle field as workers alleged that only fair faces were allowed to enter and workers from different parts of Kashmir were denied entry inside NC headquarter, Nawa-i-subh. The Workers while raising anti NC slogans demanded that Omar Abdullah must be replaced by Farooq Abdullah as the party president and projected as next Chief Ministerial candidate ; besides there must be reshuffle in provincial and District committees.
"Close associates of Ministers who act as dealers between officials and Ministers, Provincial Presidents, District heads actually defamed NC by way of looting government exchequer over the years, only such people were allowed to enter instead of grass root workers," said one agitating block President who as a mark of protest did not attended meeting.
The protestors while raising pro Farooq slogans said that grass root workers unanimously demand that Omar Abdullah who instead of meeting grass root workers is asking people to send feed back through emails must be replaced by Farooq Abdullah himself and all including Provincial committees and District committees must be reshuffled so that leadership could be made worker and people friendly.
"People like Nasir Aslam Wani,Ghulam Nabi Bhat,Tanvir Sadiq and other kiths and kins of party workers who consider themselves as Kings of Mughal rule must be replaced, opportunist District Presidents who have failed repeatedly need to be make accountable and replaced immediately," said another senior party worker who said his grandfather too was fan follower of NC and Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.
Sources within the meeting said that all MLA's, ex MLA's and other office bearers unanimously asked core group to make use of government machinery in a proper way in coming months by creating jobs, announcing developmental projects across Kashmir, meet demands of employees associations, strengthen people -Ministerial connectivity and use all means and measures to earn trust of people in general and people following NC since decades in particular.
Sources also said that as office bearers in one voice declared interference of Congress leadership as a main cause for running administration and main reason behind failure of candidates in North and South Kashmir due to cross voting even in NC bastions, all the Ministers were directed to reach to the people to by making maximum use of their portfolios in coming times.
Pertinently Omar Abdullah was appointed working president in 2012 by his father Farooq Abdullah and after facing rout in the recently concluded Parliamentary elections in Jammu and Kashmir in which Party Patron Farooq Abdullah himself was defeated for the first time in his life, NC has started the process of introspection to analyze the reasons for its failure.
