| NC-Cong blame game continues, cause cracks in coalition | | | Shakeel A Khan
SRINAGAR, May 20: Allegations and counter allegations work as a foundation on which the political constructions are done. The coalition partners, National Conference and Congress have been doing the same since decades and are still following the same so that their existence be felt every time. Ruling National conference and its coalition partner stand set against each other these days. Both these parties are facing the worst ever time of their political history as they blame each other for their debacle in the recently concluded parliamentary elections. The war of words has already picked up between the two parties which is likely to intensify in the coming days as none of these parties is ready to forge an alliance with each other in the coming assembly elections. The coalition partners have leveled serious allegations against each other depicting that both these parties find themselves in the troubled waters. The likes of Saifu - Din - Soz took no time in declaring that "The defeat of National Conference in the valley is the result of the anger of the people towards this party." Nasir Aslam Wani, the provincial chief of NC for the Kashmir province was quick to respond to the heartburning statement of Soz wherein he said "It was the dual role of congress which ensured the defeat of National Conference in the parliamentary elections." "What are the two parties going to gain from the blame game? Election means the verdict of the people and the matured politicians concede the defeat joyfully. Leveling allegations against each other, that too when they are the coalition partners, indicate that they are the opportunist politicians who can go to any extent," said some people while talking to EARLY TIMES. These people went on saying that NC and Congress have never really enjoyed the truest of the relations and the chair of power was always the bone of contention between the two. That is why the leaders of these parties are sharing the dais at one moment and on the other day they become blood thirsty for each other. When talked to, some people opinioned that the National conference has always benefitted from the Congress and it cannot survive alone. Given its weak position on the political front, NC has always to carry the burden of coalition on its shoulders.
