JAMMU, May 20: Girls today claimed the top slots by security 134 positions out of total 200 and outclassed the boys in the class tenth examination, the result of which was declared here. Out of the 53,323 students appeared in the exams including 10,723 boys and 8,195 girls, 34,306 students cleared the exam with a total percentage of 64.34. Abhimanyu Kalsotra, son of Raj Kumar and Sushma Kalsotra of St Peters School BC Road, Jammu bagged the first position with 492 marks (98.4 percent) out of 500 while Romani Gupta of Christ School Nowshera bagged second position with 491 marks followed by Vijay Lakshmi of National Academy High School, Udhampur, who bagged third position with 490 marks. Girls however, have excelled in the examinations by bagging 134 top positions out of 200 in the merit list for 20 positions, while number of boys reduced to merely 76, an official said adding that the girls also outshined boys in the overall pass percentage. |
