| Militant returning from PoK with wife, seven children apprehended | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, May 20 : A Pakistan trained militant (PTM) and resident of Hari in Surankort tehsil in Poonch district has been apprehended by the Poonch police while he was on way to his house along with his wife and seven minor children after entering the Indian soil from Nepal. Mukhtiar Ahmed s/o Moulvi Meetha resident of Hari had crossed over to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) in 2001 from Sabjian sector of Poonch district after being motivated for arms training by the commanders of Tehrik-e-Jihad-e-Islami (TeJ) terrorist outfit .After trained in different militant camps by the terrorist groups and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan army Mukhtiar was pushed into Indian territory in 2003 and he remained active in Surankot tehsil and took part in several operations against security forces and , as said by intelligence agencies, in the killing of civilians for which police has started questioning of the arrested terrorist. Between 2003 and 2005 Mukhtiar had crossed over to POK several times to get fresh directions from the militant commanders and had infiltrated to POK along with his wife Shammim Akhter also resident of Hari in 2005 and since then he was staying in the terrorist camps and in the' Muhajir camps' (refugees from J&K) in Kotli in POK.
Reportedly on Saturday Mukhtiar reached Lucknow after crossing Nepal border and boarded a train for Jammu along with his wife and children.Police has recovered few hundred rupees of Indian Currency from the possession of Mukhtiar who has been booked under 2/3 Egress & Internal Movement Control Ordinance (E&IMCO) in FIR No 81/2014. Intelligence agencies said that before crossing for POK for arms training, Mukhtiar was studying in a Madrssa at Lucknow where he was motivated by the anti national elements (ANEs) for weapons training in POK by the ISI and militant organizations. His children have been identified as 11 years old daughter Rubina, Tahir, Zahid, Saima, Danish, Azmal and 4 years old Akmal and all the children were born in POK. Police sources added that Mukhtiar managed passports for all his family members and after reaching at Nepal all the passport were destroyed and he managed to sneak in to Indian territory and reached at Lucknow from where he boarded in the train and reached at Jammu. |
