JAMMU, May 20: Raising questions over the 'lack of moderation' in optional subjects of the Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS), National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) under the leadership of Lovedeep Singh Mankotia JU President NPSU held a protest demonstration at Jammu University against JKPSC administration for giving undue mileage to certain subjects over others. Flanked by score of KAS aspirants and other members of NPSU, Lovedeep Singh accused JKPSC for depraving the standard of civil services. He alleged that for the past five consecutive years, JKPSC is hell bent inclined towards encouraging Zoology and Sociology, amounting to the disheartening of aspiring candidates of other subjects. He said, "In 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, a large number of selected candidates were from Zoology, Sociology and Urdu. There is no moderation in the scoring of subjects, owing to which many subjects remain un-noticed," said Partap. He briefed media about the recently declared result of KAS 2013 Mains, wherein out of 341 candidates, who qualified for interview; more than 100 are from Zoology as one subject, succeeded by Sociology. "Unlike other Science subjects, there is no change or twist in the question pattern of Zoology," maintained Lovedeep. On the occasion Mohan Singh (senior leader NPSU) also castigated JKPSC officials for their incompetence in producing question papers. "It is ironical on the part of JKPSC officials that despite taking huge sum of salaries they are incompetent to draft a question paper, which they either bring from outside or in most of the cases repeat the questions from previous IAS papers," said Partap Singh Jamwal. |
