| Jaswinder, Vivrant guide JCC to easy win | | | JAMMU, June 29: Jaswinder and Vivrant today guided Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) to an easy 151 runs win against Friends Cricket Club (FCC) in the ongoing Chevrolet Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at KC Public School ground, here. With today's triumph, JCC became the fourth team to make it to the next knock out round of the competition. While Jaswinder helped the side set a big total, Vivrant bowled deadly spell to reduce the opponent to below 50 runs mark. Earlier, batting first, JCC set a target of 196 runs for five wickets. Jaswinder Singh made 58-ball 92 runs hitting ten boundaries and four sixes. Guru Partap contributed 28-ball 50 runs studded with five fours and one hit over the fence. From FCC, Shailesh took two wickets while Abhi and Raju as also Manik shared a piece each. Later, chasing the total, FCC bowled out for just 44 runs in 12.3 overs. KK remained top scorer with 24 runs. Vivrant bowled brilliant spell taking away four wickets for 18 runs in three overs while Rahil Singh, Vishwajeet Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Guru Partap shared one wicket each. For his superb innings of 92 runs, Jaswinder Singh was named man of the match. Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Wave Cricket Club registered a five wickets win against Chib Cricket Club to consolidate their position in the ongoing league round. Batting first, Chib Club bowled out for 108 runs playing complete 20 overs. Deepak Kumar and Ajay made 24 and 16 runs respectively while Babu Kumar added 10 runs. Charanjeet Singh emerged as most successful bowler with four wickets, followed by Rakesh Singh and Meeta, who shared two each. In reply, Wave Club attained the goal of 109 runs in 13 overs losing five wickets. Charanjeet Singh played 28 runs unbeaten innings, followed by Varjinder and Arun with 25 and 17 runs in their respective accounts. Love Singh bagged two wickets from Chib Club. Sahil, Sandeep and Deepak shared apiece each. For his all-round performance, Charanjeet Singh was declared man of the match.
