| Associate Prof in GMCH floating norms due to her influence | | | K. Koushal
Jammu, June 29: Not justifying her work, an associate professor in the department of Preventive and Social Medicine (PSM), ignoring her department is managing the work done by Post Graduates (PGs) in the hospital.
As per sources, she used to give occasional appearance in her department as getting a project on the study of Rota virus, she has been managing the work with the help of learning PGs which is further adding burden on the learners but who cares about the precious lives?
Sources said that Dr. Dinesh who is HoD of PSM and Principal Investigation in a project (ROTA) used his influence and projected her wife Dr Rama as Co-Principal Investigator in the project.
The story however doesn't end here as according to sources, Dr Rama who joined in the mid of 2011 as Medical Officer Anti-Rabies in GMC&H somehow managed her attachment after few months in Urban Health Centre Trikuta Nagar.
In a further violation that extended up to a period of 1.5 years, she was detached following complaints from the residents of Trikuta Nagar about her non-seriousness to diagnose the regular patients.
Again the long time privilege of staying for over 1.5 years was against the set norms as post of demonstrator was sanctioned in Urban Health Centre, Trikuta Nagar but she enjoyed the stay as Assistant Professor with her influence.
And what is the worst here that on average, 20-25 cases of animal bites including dog are reported every day at the GMC&H
