| Top cop of State police rebuked by PMO officer for corruption, nepotism, violation of transfer policy in JKP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 29: To rein the lawlessness in general and corruption in particular in Jammu and Kashmir police, a senior police officer was rebuked by none else but the Prime Ministers Office. The said police officer was summoned by the PMO on the pretext of a meeting, but to his utter surprise, he was rebuked for maligning image of the Jammu and Kashmir police. The incident took place about seven days ago when the senior police officer was called to PMO, on the complaint of the BJP leaders from Jammu in which it was alleged that the police officers in Jammu, ignoring BJP are favouring the NC led Congress government. Informed sources in police said that, the complaint was also apprised about corruption, nepotism and violation of transfer policy in the police. In the PMO, the senior police officer ,firstly, got access of the security situation regarding arrival of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in Jammu at Katra to inaugurate the Udhampur-Katra rail link and later taking cognizance of the complaint was rebuked by a bureaucrat, reportedly on the rank of Under Secretary in the PMO. Sources said that after the incident, the matter became talk of the town, particularly in Police department. Sources further said that some police officers are now approaching to the BJP leaders for prime postings and even some are seen roaming PDP camp. Pertinently, transfer policy in police has become the trade of minting money as it openly violated. Further the interference of politicians tears it much to the maximum. Giving the example of the transfers made before Parliamentary election, sources said the reason why "The transfers made by the PHQ are not effective on the ground till now". |
