Projects worth Rs 168.88 Cr taken up, only 18.932 Cr spent in one year
ERA presents dismal picture in Jammu

Jammu, June 29: Construction works worth Crores of rupees taken up by Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) in Jammu are going at snail's pace as the ratio of amount approved and amount incurred on these constructions and upgradation projects in one year presents a dismal preposition.
As per a documents available with the Early Times, ERA had taken up projects worth Rs. 168.88 Crore in Jammu under Tranche-II Sub-Projectsin the year 2013 and the expenditure incurred during the year 2013-14 is just Rs. 18.932 Crore.
The document reads that five projects were taken up under the ADB loan including Construction of Bikram Chowk Flyover and widening/Strengthening of road from Bikram Chowk to Convent School in Jammu city under Contract package JKUSDIP Jammu/UT-01, Rehabilitation and Channelization of Storm Water Drain at Channi Himmat in Jammu city under contract package JKUSDIP Jammu/SWD-02, Construction of Tube Wells, Installation of Mechanical and Electrical equipment and Civil works under Jammu city water supply, Rehabilitation programme (19 nos. tube well lot-1=12 nos. & lot-2=7 nos.) under contract package JKUSDIP/WS-01, Replacement of worn-out pipe lines, laying of new pipelines in distribution networks and construction of OHT at Jammu city, under contract package JKUSDIP/WS-02 and Replacement of worn-out machineries and electrical equipments including essential civil works in tube well and Central Pumping Station (CPS) at Jammu city Water Supply Rehabilitation programme under Contract package JKUSDIP/WS-03 respectively.
As far as construction of Bikram Chowk Flyover and widening and strengthening of Road from Bikram Chowk to Convent school is concerned, Rs. 64.3 Crores have been approved of which only Rs. 8.561 have been incurred in one year.
Similarly for the Rehabilitation and Channelization of Storm Water Drain at Channi Himmat in Jammu city is concerned, Rs. 14.87 Crores have been approved of which only Rs 3.534 crore have been incurred in one year period. For construction of Tube Wells, Installation of Mechanical and Electrical equipment and Civil works under Jammu city water supply, of Rs. 30.7 Crores approved only 2.171 Crores have been incurred inclusive of mobilization advance in one year.
For the replacement of worn-out pipe lines, laying of new pipelines in distribution networks and construction of OHT at Jammu city, Rs 35.76 Crores have been approved out of which only Rs 3.626 Crores have been incurred in one year inclusive of mobilization advance.
For the replacement of worn-out machineries and electrical equipments including essential civil works in tube well and Central Pumping Station (CPS) at Jammu city Water Supply Rehabilitation programme, Rs. 23.25 Crores have been approved of which only Rs 1.04 Crores have been incurred inclusive of mobilization advance in one year.
