Cong stages protest against border skirmishes | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Oct 12: To oppose Pakistan Government for promoting unprovoked heavy firing along areas of International Border, Youth Congress and District Congress Committee (DCC), Kathua under the leadership of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) member Naresh Sharma held a massive protest demonstration and burnt the effigy of Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharief here today. Congress protestors also attacked union government headed by Narendra Modi for being failed to snub the Pakistan by handling with adequate response. While demanding a solid answer to Pakistan's heavy firing, Senior Congress leader Naresh Sharma, Ch. Mohamad Gulzar (Working Committee Member Congress Kathua and District president Gujjar and Bakerwal Conference and Youth Congress leader Pankaj Sharma accused the central government of "failing" to respond adequately to ceasefire violations by Pakistan and left the entire nation at the target of enemy. "Deaths of jawans and civilians on the borders have become a regular feature ever since the NDA government came to power at the Centre," they said during the protest. Pakistan Rangers resorted to indiscriminate firing along the international border in Jammu, Poonch and Kathua District due to which entire border villages are evacuated after taking place a forced public migration. |
