ABVP demands postponement of convocation in JU 10/12/2014 10:44:34 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 12: Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has expressed anguish over the date of special convocation of Jammu University scheduled to be held October on 24 2014 in Zorawar singh auditorium and demanded to postpone the event as it falls in the middle of the Pooja Holidays just after Deepawali on Vishvakarma day. Addressing a press conference at ABVP State Office here today, Raghav Sharma, State Secretary, ABVP , Sandeep khajuria, ABVP JU President and Madhu Sharma, ABVP JU secretary stated that due to the aforesaid date, most of the students and scholars are forced not to celebrate the most important and auspicious festival with their family members. They said that every parent has a dream to see his\her ward receiving the prestigious academic award in such convocation. But they are deprived of their dream by JU administration. They also stated that Hindus are in minority in J&K and if this type of treatment by organizing convocation just on the next day of the festival Deepawali will not be tolerated by the students especially by ABVP.
