Jammu, Oct 12: Jammu Students Morcha (JSM) today has demanded strict action against employees of Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) who were involved in copying last year. Addressing media persons, State President of JSM Vijay Kumar said that last year a student was caught copying in Directorate of Distance Education (DDE). "The student was caught along with a book and suspended for two years. A contractual lecturer Dr. Narsrean and Professor Darshana Sharma were on duty and in front of duo, the accused was copying", he said, adding that JU authorities had terminated contractual lecturer Dr. Narsrean on the same day, but no action has been taken yet against Professor Darshana Sharma. He further said that a committee has framed by Jammu University and during investigation; Dr. Narsrean had alleged that she was permitting the accused to do copying on the directions of Professor Darshana Sharma. "One year has been passed since the incident but so far no action has been taken against Darshana Sharma, and it appears that the enquiry committee was just an eye wash and their report has also been hushed up by the authorities", he said, adding that the University authorities were totally unfair as they had terminated the contractual lecturer but have not taken action against the Professor involved. JSM president appealed Chancellor, NN Vohra to direct Vice Chancellor of JU to take action against the involved Professor without any further delay; otherwise, they would be forced to start agitation.Among those who were present in the Press-Conference included Tarvej Ahmed, Mohd Aamer, Salim, Rashid Choudhary, Kuldeep Singh, and others. |
