SDP lambasts Government for not to reach flood victims | | | Jammu, Oct12: Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP) today lambasted government for not reaching to flood victims across the state. According to press release, SDP senior leader Engineer Ghulam Hassan said that the recent floods have exposed the inefficiency of the state administration in Kashmir valley. "There was no government at all for many many days and it still is not felt at the scene in disaster-hit Kashmir," said Ghulam Hassan. Hussain further said that there was no minister, no bureaucrats, no state disaster management system in place when people were struggling for their lives. The NDRF has misused for influential people only and it was because of the local volunteers and the Army that thousands of lives have saved in Kashmir. "When on one hand people are still suffering and struggling hard for shelter and livelihood, the government is not doing anything concrete for the rehabilitation of the sufferers," said Engineer Hassan. He further said that still the management of the relief flood was the biggest challenge and presently a big chunk of it goes to the homes of a few influential people while as the real sufferers crave for everything needful. "The numberless trucks of relief coming from other states are hi-jacked by a few self-styled public representatives to grab a large chunk of it. When the government has failed at all fronts, the opposition parties are hell bent upon exploiting the situation for their political ends," said SDP leader. |
