Soft skills, career making workshop conclude at CUJ | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 18: Three days long workshops on soft skills and carrer making today concluded at Central University Jammu. According to press release, the workshop was organized by MBA departments Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour and Tourism and Travel Management. Speaking in the valedictory function, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Devanand said that employability skills were the fundamentals skills that were a pre-requisite of any professional program in a University/higher education system. It imparts proficiency in knowledge domain where as skills like Effective Communication, Business Etiquettes, Presentation Skills are critical for seeking employment. At Central University of Jammu, there has been a lot of emphasis on developing these critical life-skills among students. He appreciated the organization of the workshop. The workshop for MBATTM students, "Fundamental Career Workshop" was facilitated by Mr. Manjot K.S Gill, Chief Business Officer, Mind Bridge Asia. The workshop focused on employability skills of the young professionals. It revolved around effective presentation before an employer and by creating a powerful C.V. The students greatly benefited from the workshop. The workshop for the MBA HRM & OB students, "Effective Communication and Presentation Techniques" was conducted by Mr. Bhattacharya, Consultant and Practicing CA, and a product of IIM, Kolkota. This workshop outlined the fundamentals of Effective Communication, nuances of the area, how to handle conflicts, how to manage presentations, and essentially business etiquettes in a cross- cultural context. The Function was attended by the Deans of different schools, Heads of the Departments and officers of the University including Registrar, Jit Singh. Earlier, Prof. Deepak Raj Gupta, Dean School of Business Studies, CUJ welcomed the guests. Dr. Amit Gangotia presented the formal Vote of Thanks and Anjali Pathania conducted the programme. |
