Why is BJP silent over black money issue? | | | Sandeep Bhat JAMMU, Oct 18: Too much hue and cry was created by BJP on black money when UPA ruled the country, but with the change of guard at Centre, the BJP which is now in the driver's seat has gone slow in disclosing the names of those who have black money abroad. Taking a U turn on this issue, senior BJP leaders are now blaming Congress party for not disclosing the names, citing the agreement between India and Germany in year 1995, which stops BJP to disclose the names. Ajay Maken, the Congress spokesperson said that in the year 1995, Congress was not in Government and BJP leaders are fooling the people of the country on this important issue. He told media persons in Delhi that Ramdev and Anna Hazare should continue their protest on black money issue as they used to raise voice when Congress party was in the Government. He said why these leaders are now silent on this issue. Talking to Early Times, a local BJP leader said that Modi Government is committed on getting back black money and it will fulfill the promise made to the people. He further said that the BJP Government is doing a wonderful job under the leadership of Prime Minister. Ravinder Sharma, a local Congress leader and spokesperson said that this Government is only befooling the innocent people of the country. "The BJP raises its voice when it is out of power. They always raise issues which they never fulfill or resolve. He criticized the BJP leaders for playing with the sentiments of the people. Same thing happened when previous NDA Government promised to built Ram Mandir but later the people realized that they were misleading people for petty political issues." Pertinent to mention, a staunch supporter of Narendra Modi, the senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani has written a letter to Prime Minister on the issue and is unhappy on the statement given by BJP Ministers and spokesperson. |
