YAIKS to take struggle to power corridors of Delhi | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 18 : To take their struggle to logical conclusion and seek permanent rehabilitation and resettlement in their native land of Kashmir KP youth under the aegis of Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) took out a rath aytra to Union Capital from here. The rath yatra was flagged off by BJP spokesperson Farooq Khan in presence of prominent KP leaders and activists. He also hoisted the flag of YAIKS on the occasion in presence of its present R K Bhat who led the rath yatra. The YAIKS has decided tot take their struggle to power corridors of Delhi as they failed to get justice during last over 25 years of their exile through the hands of both State as well as Central governments. Addressing the activists of the organization at Press Club earlier R K Bhat said that successive governments failed to settle the problems of displaced Pandits altogether and it is unfortunate that this miniscule minority is leading an exiled life for over last 25 years in their own country with Government turning a blind eye to restoration of rights to the community members and their rehabilitation in their native place Kashmir. ``It seems there is no political will to ensure the permanent rehabilitation of the community'', he said. Making a dig at Union Government he said it has completely failed on this account though many feelers were sent for the rehabilitation of the community but never a long term comprehensive plan was drawn for repartition of community. Bhat demanded a thorough probe into the thousands of crores of rupees given by Centre on the name of Pandits saying this all money ahs gone down the drain. He said the community is carrying temporary ration cards for last 25 years and how long it will continue. The present rath yatra is in continuation of YAIKS Pad yatra taken out in 2004 during the launch of the struggle by the youth of the community for their rights. He said the yatra will proceed via Punjab Chandigarh, Haryana before reaching Delhi. On reaching Delhi obeisance will be paid to Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat. Besides homage will also be paid to all innocent people killed during turmoil in the State, he added. Bhat said the YAIKS activists will continue their struggle in Union Capital till their six point charter of demands is met. They include implementation of PM's 6000 job package for KP youth as only 1452 posts were filled out of it, selection of 221 deserving displaced youth who are willing to serve in Valley under PM package, one time compensation for over aged youth under PM's package, return of KPs to Valley by creating smart cities in South Central and North Kashmir and grant of Minority and IDP status to KPs. The yatra ahs reached Amritsar in the evening where besides paying obeisance at Golden temple the leaders will also meet prominent Sikh leaders and seek their support in their struggle. |
