10/28/2014 11:22:04 PM
Kishtwar, Oct 28: The 10 Districts of Jammu Division disbursed Rs. 15 crore compensation on account of 177 death cases and 25972 damage claims involving private property; even as worst flood hit District of Rajouri is yet to finalize the details on account of damages to public property. Udhampur District disbursed an amount of 0.675 Cr on account of 45 death cases while the Udhampur administration fails to carry out the other assessments. Reasi District disbursed an amount of amount of Rs. 1.8308 Cr on account of 20 death cases, 711 fully and 750 partially damaged houses. Ramban District disbursed an amount of amount of Rs. 1.36804 Cr on account of one death cases, 361 fully and 1315 partially damaged houses. Doda District disbursed an amount of amount of Rs. 0.544555 Cr on account of 1 death case, 4 injured cases, 80 fully and 1167 partially damaged houses and 409 other cases. Kishtwar District disbursed an amount of amount of Rs. 1.9074450 Cr on account of five death cases, 297 fully 1194 partially damaged houses and 2265 other related cases. Rajouri District disbursed an amount of Rs 1.155 Cr on account of 77 death cases, while all other columns are blank in the Divisional Commissioner report and lastly the Poonch District disbursed an amount of Rs. 0.7353 on account of 19 death cases, 136 fully and 44 partially damaged houses. Both Rajouri and Poonch Districts has suffered massive damages in last month floods and more than 20000 structures in both the Districts has been reportedly damaged due to these floods, but the relief related cases addressed in these twin Districts of Jammu Division is very slow and required more efforts to meet out the demands of the effected people. It is pertinent to mention that union government has announced financial assistance of over 2000 Cr to the state government on account of Disaster, but the disbursement of nominal amount of Rs. 15.0017 cr makes the mockery on part of the government functionaries, particularly with regards to the Districts of Rajouri, Poonch and Udhampur and the same need to be expedited for speedy disposal of the relief related cases.
