Rajouri District disbursed an amount of Rs 1.155 Cr on account of 77 death cases, while all other columns are blank in the Divisional Commissioner report and lastly the Poonch District disbursed an amount of Rs. 0.7353 on account of 19 death cases, 136 fully and 44 partially damaged houses. Both Rajouri and Poonch Districts has suffered massive damages in last month floods and more than 20000 structures in both the Districts has been reportedly damaged due to these floods, but the relief related cases addressed in these twin Districts of Jammu Division is very slow and required more efforts to meet out the demands of the effected people. It is pertinent to mention that union government has announced financial assistance of over 2000 Cr to the state government on account of Disaster, but the disbursement of nominal amount of Rs. 15.0017 cr makes the mockery on part of the government functionaries, particularly with regards to the Districts of Rajouri, Poonch and Udhampur and the same need to be expedited for speedy disposal of the relief related cases. |
