BJP worried after Sham adopts aggressive pro-Jammu posture 10/28/2014 11:49:22 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 28: Notwithstanding the brave face presented by the state unit of BJP to undermine pro-Jammu posture being adopted by Congress leader Sham Lal Sharma, the Saffron Party is worried over the way Sharma has been picking up this election campaign by raking up the discrimination issue. Sham Lal Sharma is systemically trying to hijack the issues which are core of BJP's agenda, the party (BJP) leaders are really looking worried. Publically BJP leaders are attacking Sham Lal Sharma for enacting resignation drama to befool the people but internally they are concerned that after submitting his resignation from the council of ministers Sham is now free to go to any extent. Party leadership is worried that if Sham Lal Sharma has repeated his Bani statement where he had supported statehood for Jammu region, it would be difficult for the party to counter this demand. Despite pressure from the state unit to support the demand of statehood for Jammu, central leadership of BJP is not ready to endorse this demand due to certain political compulsions. Sham Lal Sharma's Hindu Chief Minister demand is another matter of concerned for the BJP which claims itself as champion of the cause of Hindus of Jammu and Kashmir. "How will counter demand of Hindu Chief Minister being repeatedly raised by Sham Lal Sharma?", a senior BJP, who do not want to quote, asked, adding, "on the demand of Hindu Chief Minister, BJP is in dilemma because on the one hand BJP party has no reason to oppose this demand while on the other hand high command will not give permission to the state unit to openly support this demand". Political analysts believe that issue of Hindu Chief Minister is Brama-Astra for Sham Lal Sharma and BJP has no counter for this ammunition. And more important of all, the way National Conference leadership has started all out attack on Sham Lal Sharma, he is gaining sympathy in Jammu region so intensification of NC's attack on Sham Lal would help him to further consolidate his position in Jammu region especially among Hindus of Jammu.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
