HC stays selection list of drivers 10/28/2014 11:22:16 PM JAMMU, Oct 28: In a petition filed by Harmeet Singh challenging the selection list of drivers, Justice Bansi Lal Bhat of J&K High Court Jammu Wing after hearing Adv Abhinav Sharma appearing for the petitioner issued notices to the Commissioner/Secretary Urban Development Dept, Director Urban Local Bodies (Chairman Selection Committee) and 51 appointees returnable within four weeks. Justice Bansi Lal Bhat after hearing Adv Abhinav Sharma who argued that the petitioner's grievances is that selection of private respondents as drivers the rules of J&K Civil Services (Decentralization and Regulation) Rules 2010 and also in violation of criteria laid down by respondents. He further submitted that the cadre of drivers does not fall within category of Class IV posts and it is the J&K SSRB who is competent to make selection of non-gazetted posts including drivers, ordered that list of drivers issued by Director Urban Local Bodies dated October 16, 2014 shall remain stayed till next date before the Bench.
