Early Times Report

SRINAGAR, Oct 28: The newly formed Jammu Kashmir Peoples Republican Party (JKPRP) is emerging a viable alternative in the State to fight the traditional political parties responsible for dynastic rule, misgovernance and corruption for years together resulting in present turmoil in the State. To rid the State from the clutches of corrupt politicians who have taken it to the path of economic crunch and political bankruptcy. The party has braced up to work for beginning of a new era in the trouble -torn State of J&K where every one feels free and secure and held his head high, said Party spokesperson Mir Ghulam Rasool in a statement issued here today. He said JKPRP will be first Party which will fight out dynastic rule in J&K and also take the struggle to its logical conclusion. He said lot of damage was done to the State due to the wrong policies and misrule by some dynasties who ruled it for maximum period right form 1947, mislead people by giving cheap and catchy slogans but never worked in real sense to fulfill the aspirations of the people. Mir said the leaders of these parties misguided youth by questioning accession when it suited them and did not bother in joining hands with other political parties to taste the power in State or at Centre. These double standards of these parties who gave nothing to State except dynastic rule have led to public unrest and forced the innocent youth to revolt, Mir added.
He said PRP is totally disturbed with the present State of affairs in J&K which besides seeing lot of devastation and destruction due to the 25 year long turmoil has also faced the wrath of floods damaging the entire infrastructure and taking the State decades backward.
He said his party with a sense of responsibility had opposed holding of elections at this juncture and demanded rehabilitation of the flood victims and restoration of the damaged infrastructure at first instance. But the Election Commission did not accept the same and announced the Assembly poll in the State. Having full faith in democratic traditions the, PRP has decided to contest the Assembly elections in the State to fight the forces inimical to the common cause democratically.
Mir said instead of making false promises his Party will solidly work on ground to put the State back on rails and bride the gulf between the different communities which has been widened due to the turmoil.
The State of J&K has its distinct identity and it has nurtured the secular values for centuries together but unfortunately the politicians for their vested interests tried to create a gulf between the communities by raking up emotive issues. It is high time that the right thinking people of the State will rise the occasion and identify all those parties and teach them a lesson at hustings by supporting those parties who will free State from dynastic politics, corruption, misrule etc.
