Aadhaar Card begins on clumsy note in Rajouri, mistakes galore | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Oct 28: Process for giving Unique Identification Number i.e. Aadhaar Card to the residents of Rajouri district has begun on a clumsy note."The process was started on October 21st and in the initial stage, all the inhabitants of Rajouri Municipality will be provided Aadhaar Cards" and for that every possible arrangement have been made" said Manzoor Lone , Executive Officer Rajouri Municipality.But when The Early Times reporter today visited the first camp at Government Boys Higher Secondary School some astonishing facts came to light. Executive Officer (EO) has provided necessary lists and information to Chief Education Officer (CEO) for appointment of Enumerators but when many enumerators were contacted including Shamim Akhter (for w/ No 9, Sunil Kumar ( for w /No 4) Rakesh Kumar (for w / No1), they said that they have not received any formal orders from the concerned authorities till today. Many heads of the families also informed that the name of some members are in the lists provided to the company officials engaged for the preparing of Aadhaar Cards while the names of others are missing from the lists. No official was available at this centre to provide proper guidance, including necessary information about the documents required, to the people for mitigation of problems they are facing in getting the Aadhaar Card. The name of Surekha Manjutra w/o Ravinder Kumar (EPIC No HTZ0944934 issued in 2012) was found missing from the list of Aadhaar Card while the names of other family member were in the list. No proper advertisement was made by the concerned authorities about making of Aadhaar Cards in the Rajouri city and many inhabitants including prominent and intellectuals are not aware about the camp.Even many people don't aware about the Aadhaar Card and its importance. Manzoor Lone EO said that he is out of district for election related training and will be back on Wednesday and assure that everything will be streamlined soon including proper advertisement, and availbity of authority letters Aadhaar Card number (Unique identification number, UIN) is controlled by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is 12 digit identification number issued by UIDAI to all the residents of India and will have its own importance in all the governmental works. The number is stored in a centralized database of the Government and linked to the basis demographics and biometric information, photograph, finger prints and iris of each resident. |
