SRINAGAR, Oct 28: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address around eight election rallies across Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, starting November 10, a top party leader told KNS on Tuesday.
"On November 10, Modi is likely to address a rally in Kashmir region and dates are being finalized for the rallies in Jammu and Ladakh Region. We have planned out around seven to eight election rallies to be addressed by the PM in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Regions," he said.
"There can be more if required," he said and added that the BJP is confident to win a majority on its own strength and form the government without requiring any post-poll alliances.
Sources said that the top state and central BJP leaders including the Party President Amit Shah and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh are also expected to be present at the rallies of the PM which the party hopes could turn the tables on the other three major contending parties - Congress, National Conference and PDP.
Meanwhile, sources said that the BJP union ministers will also address the public rallies in Jammu and Kashmir during the Assembly polls. "The Union Ministers will start their rallies in Jammu from next week which will be followed by Kashmir and Ladakh regions in the coming days to prepare ground for its victory in the assembly elections" they said.
Sources said that the BJP high command has stressed to focus on 'mission 44 +' from the state. "Keeping eye on the 44 seats from the state the party high command has also directed some top leaders to monitor the poll campaign," they added.
Meanwhile, Avinash Rai Khanna BJP's Chief Whip in Raj Sabha and in charge Jammu and Kashmir affairs said that party eyes 44+ seats in the State and it will concentrate to win all 25 Assembly seats in Jammu region on which the Party had maintained a lead in recently held Lok Sabha elections.
"There are 37 assembly seats in the Jammu region and we want to maximize our gains in this region. We plan to win at least 32-33 seats in this region itself," he said
In the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won Jammu, Ladakh and Udhampur seats, which comprise 41 assembly segments.
Urging the people to vote for the BJP he also lashed out at the Congress and National Conference that has governed the state for the last many years.
"These people have robbed the jobs of youths, happiness of the poor and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir," he said and urged the people to dump the Congress and other parties and give a clear majority to the BJP, promising them a strong and stable government.
