Militants waiting across LoC to infiltrate: Army | | | Saahil Suhail

Qazigund (Anantnag), Jan 2 : Lieutenant General, Subrata Saha, the General Officer Commanding of Srinagar-based 15 Corps, Friday said that at least 160-170 militants trained in Pakistan are waiting to cross into the Indian side of the border. After assessing the preparedness for disaster management in South Kashmir during winter months at 2 Sector RR headquarters here in Wuzur area of Qazigund, town Saha told reporters, "Militants waiting across the LoC to infiltrate aren't in thousands but yes we have information that only 160-170 militants are waiting to cross into the Indian side of the border," adding army is ready to foil the attempts of infiltration He said adding that security forces have tightened vigil along the border and any attempt of infiltration would be foiled. When asked will army cooperate with the new government over the revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), Lieutenant General, Subrata Saha replied impudently "Army is ready to provide safe and security environment that it will continue under all circumstances." He said that army along with other forces is ready to face any challenge arising after the assembly elections. Giving details about the disaster preparedness in South Kashmir, General Subrata Saha said that civil administration, security forces and border road organization will work with synergy to face any possible disaster during the wintery season. "we have learnt a lot from the floods so this time I would like to assure people that security forces along with civil administration is ready to face any challenge." He said. He said that army in coordination with civil administration and other security forces and organizations have made available adequate ration and other essentials. "Medical facilities have been setup; helipads have been identified besides we have trained our men in Machail area of North Kashmir for fruitful results." He said. Saha informed that meeting was conveyed by him to give a final touch to the disaster management preparedness. |
