Ensure safety of border residents: Hamid | | | Early Time Report
Jammu, Jan 2: People Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader Hamid Choudhary on Friday expressed concern over sudden spurt in the incidents of cross border firing all along International Border (IB) in Jammu region has triggered a panic amongst locals putting up in villages of Hiranagar in district Kathua. According to press release, Hamid Choudhary said though the officials of district administration have visited the forwarded villages and assessed the situation yet they are required to stay prepared to meet any unforeseen challenges ahead in days to come. He said there should be no compromise with safety and security of villagers, their livestock and their homes and hearths. If need arise the administration must be prepared to shift the villagers to some safer places where all arrangements of food, water, electricity and shelter must be made well in advance. He said that this was very crucial period for students who have to take their examinations in days to come and the administration should also ensure that students' community don't actually suffer on account of border firing or movement of people from one place to another in haste. He expressed satisfaction over the visit of officials to the border areas for assessing ground situation and hoped that peace prevails in the region. He also asked the administration to keep updating the information regarding notified relief camps so that people don't face difficulties in case of emergencies. |
