DB issues notice to State regarding to withdrawal of 'security of judges' | | | Jammu, Jan 2: In a much publicized Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding security of High Court (HC) and others, a Division Bench (DB) of state High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur today said that the security/guards present at the residential houses of the retired High Court Judges shall continue as they were on or before December 31 concluding year. An application was filed by Advocate Jaspinder Singh seeking direction to police authorities to restore the security of High Court Judges and a Division Bench of state High Court after hearing Adv Ajay Sharma appearing for the applicant observed that this is an application highlighting the withdrawal of the personnel of security guards on 31/12/2014, who were deputed at the houses of the retired High Court Judges and issued notice to State which was accepted by Sr. AAG Gagan Baostra. Division Bench further observed that stated that the security/guards present at the residential houses of the retired High Court Judges shall continue as they were on or before December 31 and this statement is taken on record and the same be strictly adhere to. Division Bench further directed that comprehensive reply may be filed bringing on record the policy of the State and the objective criteria to make assessment of threat perceptions.
