JAMMU, Jan 3: Zorawar Club, Satwari defeated Mahant Bachitter Singh (MBS) Club Makhanpur Simbal 8-3 in a high scoring match to lift the Jammu District under-19 boys' hockey title. The event was organised by Hockey J&K at K K Hakhu Stadium, here today. Harsh Vaid completed his hat trick to help the side make it a big win. Harveer, Harpreet Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Shivay Vaid and Lakhwinder Singh were other scorers. The final officiated by the technical penal including Joginder Singh, JS Reen, JS Bali, Charanjeet Singh, GS Bakshi and MS Reen. In the final and valedictory function, senior BJP leader, Shamsher Singh Manhas was chief guest, who gave away the winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes. Member State Sports Council, Ranjeet Kalra was guest of honour. Prominent among others present were treasurer Hockey India, Rajinder Singh, general secretary, Hockey J&K, Romal Singh, Gurmeet Singh, HS Reen, Nirayan Singh, Bal Krishan, Tejinder Singh, Popinder Singh and Manmohanpal Singh. |
